My recording routine

Here's a fairly detailed summary of how I usually record shows, from start to finish. Also available is a handy checklist of the things I have with me at every show.

My rigs

A guide to the 4 rigs I've gone through since I started recording. Helpful for comparing my experiences with the three different Core Sound mic models, and for some of my thoughts on upgrading from MD to DAT, and from the Sony D8 DAT recorder to the M1.

My recording experiences

Here are summaries of the shows I've been to and tried to record, usually sucessfully. Useful reading for random tips I've picked up at different shows. It is currently very out of date, but I will hopefully add to it eventually.

Dates are given in reverse chronological order, with new summaries being added to the top as they're written. Along with the date, each line lists the artist(s) who were recorded, the venue, and the overall learning value of that particular recording experience.

Note: only shows from 2-10-00 and older are currently journaled. Check back in a year for, say, March's shows.
